Special Computers Now Available

A Message from Our CEO Stan Pokras:

Two very special computers are now available at NTR.

The Homework Computer - Regular price: $55

Right now at an introductory price of just $35, the Homework Computer is so cheap, we are practically giving it away. This is a fully functional, Internet-ready machine. It comes with the Open Office suite so you can easily save and open Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point documents. It sports the Firefox web browser and can be connected to any router with an Ethernet cable to be on the Internet immediately. If you already have a router in your home, you can connect as many of our Homework Computers as you wish. The Homework Computer is a Pentium III computer running Xubuntu system software.

The (Nearly) Indestructible Computer - Prices from $89

This is my pride and joy computer. If you have ever experienced a nasty virus or malware that took out your computer and you want to avoid all that trouble, this is the way to go. I have been working for the last 6 months to develop a "bullet proof" computer. And I have finally perfected it.

I call this Nearly Indestructible because I know that there is nothing that can't be damaged. But I have been applying the skills of teenage testers and people who can simply look at a computer to cause it to malfunction ... and so far all of my designs have withstood every attack.

At this time all of The (Nearly) Indestructible Computers are two-drive machines. The security comes from preventing changes to the computer's start-up drive, while allowing the user to save all their work on a second hard drive. The second hard drive can be inside the computer, or it can be connected via a USB cable. The fact that all of the user data is stored separately from the computer's program drive makes this design easy to recover -- even if something does happen to the program drive.

But it won't!!! Under Windows XP, The (Nearly) Indestructible Computer has its programs and startup files locked down! Viruses can't touch it. If a virus does attack, the computer will shed the attacking program on restart. It won't be removed, it won't be put in a quarantine, it will simply cease to exist!

Come in to our Computer Thrift Store and see a demonstration of The (Nearly) Indestructible Computer. With this machine, your data will be much safer than ever before.
